Despite the upturn – Pochettino has ‘no idea’ if he’ll still be at Chelsea next season and wants guarantees

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has ‘no idea’ if he’ll be at Stamford Bridge next season as the club’s owners have given no indication about his future.

The Argentine was hired last summer to replace Graham Potter, who lasted less than ten months at the helm.

Pochettino signed a two-year deal when he joined the club, meaning he’ll be halfway through his tenure at the end of the season.

The club appointed Pochettino because of his track record with young players and after such a difficult debut campaign at the club, Chelsea have finally started to show some consistency in recent weeks.

Despite the upturn, Pochettino has appeared more disgruntled than ever with the lack of support above him.

The former Spurs boss said last week that he’s been given no clarification on his future and that the only updates he gets are through the media.

‘If I have one more year on my contract here, and no one says nothing, suppose that I am going to be here,’ said Pochettino.

‘We don’t know at the moment. I suppose I have one more year on my contract and that I am going to be here.’

And ESPN say Pochettino has been left completely in the dark over his future, with the Chelsea board leaving him out of conversations about this summer’s transfer market and next season’s plans.

Pochettino has ‘no idea’ if he will remain at the club and wants guarantees that he will remain.

The former PSG manager guided Chelsea to the EFL Cup final, which they lost to Liverpool.

Chelsea were then beaten in the FA Cup semi-finals by Manchester City.

But the club’s league form has improved, and a 5-0 win against West Ham on Sunday has helped Chelsea into 7th place.
