Pochettino reveals the key lessons from Chelsea 2-2 draw with Burnley

Chelsea and Burnley played a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, despite the Clarets being a man down all through the second-half.

The Blues took the lead twice in the game, but got pegged back by a relegation-threatened Burnley side who had to play the second-half with a man less.

Speaking after the game, Mauricio Pochettino admitted he was disappointed with his side’s performance.

According to Pochettino, the result against Burnley, shows his Chelsea team has so many areas to improve on.

“So disappointed,” Mauricio Pochettino told BBC after Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Burnley.

“We didn’t show the consistency and the capacity to deal with and manage the game. We allowed them some actions from set pieces to get some possibility to believe.

“It is a result that shows that we need to improve in many areas if we want to be competitive.

“It was so easy for them to get to our last third. We were not aggressive enough in open play and defending set pieces. We need to improve like a team and be more competitive.”

It’s surprising Chelsea couldn’t win this game against a Burnley side who were down by a man all through the second-half.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino had claimed before the game against Burnley, that Chelsea have improved massively and should be in the top four. However, the result against relegation-threatened Burnley has shown otherwise.
