Barca legend and Xavi’s former teammate says want to take over from Xavi as new manager

I want to coach Barcelona – Xavi’s former teammate says

Xavi has since confirmed that he’d be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season.

Barcelona have been making plans on who will replace Xavi at the end of the season.

Former Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta, has said he would want to coach Barcelona in the near future.

“Do I want to coach Barca? The answer would be yes, but it is something still very far away,” Andres Iniesta told Corriere Dello Sport.

“I’m still playing and I don’t even have a [coaching] license. I will get it, in addition to the sports director’s [licence], then we’ll see.”

Iniesta may be Barcelona’s coach in future, but definitely not in 2024.

The 39-year-old is still playing active football in the United Arab Emirates, and is yet to officially hang his boot. Iniesta has scored two goals and made one assist in his 12 appearances this season.
