History Maker: Christian Pulisic writes himself into AC Milan history books with special goal

Chelsea flop Christian Pulisic has written himself into the AC Milan history books with a special goal against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

The Blues sold Pulisic for €22m in July and the United States international has largely impressed since joining the Italian giants.

Pulisic was at Stamford Bridge between 2019 and 2023, with the the 25-year-old producing a total of 26 goals and 21 assists across 145 appearances.

But his days in west London are behind him and Pulisic has already written himself into the history of AC Milan after being with the club for less than a year.

Pulisic’s strike against Hellas Verona was the 5000th goal AC Milan have scored in Serie A as they became just the third side ever to achieve that feat in the Italian top-flight after Juventus and Inter Milan.

He joins Kaka, Daniele Massaro, Paolo Ferrario and Gunnar Nordahl – who scored the 4000th, 3000th, 2000th and 1000th goals for AC Milan respectively.

AC Milan currently sit second in the Serie A table, sandwiched between leaders Inter Milan and third-placed Juventus.

Pulisic is not the only former Chelsea star at AC Milan, who also have Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Olivier Giroud in their squad.

Loftus-Cheek moved to the Italian side in June while Tomori and Giroud both joined in 2021.

Tomori and Giroud helped AC Milan win the Serie A title in 2021-22.
