Mauricio Pochettino to be replaced with any of these two managers

Chelsea is exploring options for a new manager amid uncertainties over Mauricio Pochettino’s future at Stamford Bridge. The Blues’ struggle continued after a last-minute goal from Axel Disasi against Brentford only managed a draw, leaving them in the lower half of the Premier League standings.

Owner Todd Boehly has so far supported Mauricio Pochettino through another challenging season, yet the former Tottenham manager’s tenure is hanging in the balance.

The club is expected to evaluate Pochettino’s performance at the season’s end but has reportedly begun scouting for potential successors.

The Guardian via Daily Mail reports that Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi are leading candidates, with either possibly taking the helm next season.

Pochettino’s arrival was anticipated to mark a new era for Chelsea under Boehly’s ownership, which began in 2022 following the departure of Roman Abramovich. Despite a significant investment exceeding £1 billion since Boehly’s takeover, the anticipated turnaround has yet to materialize.

However, there’s a belief that Chelsea is moving in the right direction under Mauricio Pochettino, who retains the dressing room’s support. If a managerial change is decided, Amorim and De Zerbi are poised for discussions to lead Chelsea towards a more successful future.

Amorim has made waves in European football, securing a Portuguese title for Sporting in 2021 and competing at the top of the league this season. Liverpool is also reportedly interested in him as a potential successor to Jurgen Klopp, along with De Zerbi.

De Zerbi has earned acclaim for his tenure at Brighton, guiding the club to the knockout stages of a European competition for the first time. His achievements have not gone unnoticed, with Barcelona also keeping tabs on his progress.
