Chelsea Makes decision on replacing Pochettino with Jose Mourinho

Chelsea’s stance on replacing Mauricio Pochettino with Jose Mourinho revealed

Jose Mourinho’s chances of a potential third stint as manager of Chelsea has been revealed amid rumours he could be on his way back to west London.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino is under pressure at Stamford Bridge and last month it was reported that Mourinho is among the favourites to replace him.

But former Blues defender William Gallas has warned Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly that the current squad is ‘not strong enough’ to work with Mourinho.

Another ex-Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit says it would be ‘interesting’ to see Mourinho return and argued that he’d give the team ‘character and personality’.

According to the Daily Mail, though, Mourinho is unlikely to replace Pochettino with sources playing down a possible third stint at the club.

Mourinho’s close circle have refused to confirm if he would be interested in taking the job but they believe that ‘there is no appetite from Chelsea’ to appoint him.

That has been echoed by sources close to the club with one insider suggesting that bringing back Mourinho would send the wrong message.

Mourinho is out of working after leaving Roma and Chelsea fans chanted his name during the 2-2 draw at Brentford on Saturday.

During his first stint at Chelsea, Mourinho dubbed himself ‘The Special One’ and won back-to-back Premier League titles as well as the FA Cup and two League Cups.

Mourinho delivered another Premier League title and League Cup trophy in his second spell as Chelsea boss.
