Enzo Fernandez brilliant performance in 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace

Chelsea came from behind in last night’s victory against Crystal Palace to earn three important points in the Premier League.

Conor Gallagher, who scored twice in the 3-1 away win, earned the applause of Blues teammate Enzo Fernandez on social media.

Following back-to-back defeats in the Premier League recently, Mauricio Pochettino’s side went behind again to trail Palace by a 1-0 scoreline at half-time on Monday night.

However, Gallagher (two) and Fernandez were on the scoresheet for Chelsea during the second-half to help the side climb back into the top half of the league table.

Next, there’s the daunting task of a trip to the in-form Manchester City this Saturday. It’s their final game before the Carabao Cup final versus Liverpool on 25 February at Wembley Stadium.

Blues midfielder Gallagher celebrated his two-goal heroics yesterday with a post on Instagram.

Chelsea’s Fernandez responded in the comment section to admit he was blown away by his teammate’s display.

Fernandez wrote: “What a match you played.”

Gallagher yet again popped up with a match-winning performance against Palace, the club he enjoyed such a fruitful loan spell with a couple of years ago.

The 24-year-old star now has three goals in his last two Chelsea appearances after rediscovering his shooting boots. This goes alongside his six assists across all competitions so far this season, too.

Chelsea travelling away fans were left chanting Gallagher’s name after the full-time whistle against Palace on Monday night. He’s certainly one of the few players in the Blues squad that can be content with their efforts during this inconsistent campaign.

It’s easy to see why Chelsea head coach Pochettino usually starts Gallagher because of his incredible energy and enthusiasm. We think he can make himself undroppable if he continues in this recent vein of goalscoring form!

We’ve been pleasantly surprised to see midfield pair Gallagher and Fernandez step up to the mark lately with more goals to their game, something that’s so important in a squad that is still missing a prolific 20-goal striker.
