Why Armando Broja isn’t starting games for Fulham Fulham manager explains

Since transferring to Fulham on loan from Chelsea at the close of the winter transfer window, Armando Broja has not managed to start a game for Fulham.

Asked why Broja is yet to start a game, Fulham manager Marco Silva said: “I spoke with him about this situation yesterday. This is the Premier League.

“It’s important to have him with us. He’s a player we looked at last summer as well. He knows being in the Premier League that he is going to have competition for places.

“He arrived only last week and against Burnley, another striker scored an important goal and had a good impact on that game. If Rodrigo is going to have another good week and Armando is going to have a good week, then it’s perfect for us.

“Football players are not stupid. They can understand decisions and one way you can deal with the situation is to work hard and show that they are better than the others who are playing.”

Rodrigo Muniz, who had never scored a Premier League goal since joining Fulham in 2021, has suddenly started scoring since Broja joined Fulham, with the Brazilian scoring three goals in a week. The Brazilian striker has been starting ahead of Broja for Fulham.

Fulham will have to pay Chelsea a fee of £4million if Broja doesn’t start 60 percent of their games. The threshold can only be met if Broja starts nine of Fulham’s remaining 14 Premier League games.
