Bayern Munich chief reveals why he didn’t sign this Chelsea player

Bayern Munich chief, Uli Hoeness has explained the reason the German club ditched their interest in Moises Caicedo.

Bayern were in for the 22-year-old Chelsea midfielder before he swapped Brighton for Stamford Bridge last summer.

Hoeness is however of the opinion that the €127m that was quoted as the player’s asking price was too much for them.

He told FAZ: “The week before (I scouted Caicedo).

“I thought to myself: Spend 127 million euros on him? Others are welcome to do that. But FC Bayern will certainly never do that because it is simply too much money for us – regardless of the qualities of this player.

“We have an Aleksandar Pavlovic, who in my opinion can become a regular player at Bayern Munich in the future. He wouldn’t exist in the first team if we had bought a Flying Six, or whatever it’s called.”
