Reporter claims Chelsea are now willing to listen to offers for this untouchable player
Chelsea will consider selling Reece James if a good offer comes in, despite his importance to the club, according to journalist, Simon Phillips.
The Blues must sell off some of their players to raise some funds before June, and Phillips has claimed that they don’t mind letting anyone go for the right amount – even James, who is captain of the club.
He told his Substack: “First and foremost, Chelsea need to sell players before the end of June. I am told that pretty much every player they would listen to offers to right now, even Reece James, with major concerns over his injuries.
“They will focus on selling the ‘pure profit’ players first and foremost, but there aren’t many who they wouldn’t listen to offers for (I mean big offers by the way, not desperate to sell etc).”
James has rarely played for Chelsea this season due to a niggling hamstring issue, but after undergoing surgery last year, there is optimism that the 24-year-old will return a better player.
The right-back may however not play again until the latter stages of the season, as he continues to undergo rehabilitation for the time being.
