William Gallas makes honest Pochettino admission after Chelsea’s 4-2 loss to Wolves
Chelsea great, William Gallas has suggested that his former club must not hesitate to sack Mauricio Pochettino if they don’t see any meaningful improvement under the Argentine.
The Blues are currently sitting outside the top half of the Premier League table after 23 games, following shock back to back defeats against Liverpool and Wolves in the last week.
Chelsea also shipped in a disturbing eight goals in those two matches, leading many to question the ability of Pochettino to lead the club, just seven months into his reign at Stamford Bridge.
For the time being however, focus has shifted to Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth-round replay with Aston Villa this Wednesday, a game that could pretty much have an impact on Pochettino’s future as manager of the club, with defeat likely to pile up more pressure on the 51-year-old.
Speaking with Getting Casino ahead of the game, former Chelsea defender, Gallas said: “When you aren’t getting results, the blame always goes to the manager.
“It’s always the manager who is to blame and this is the risk of being a manager. If the club aren’t performing then they have to sack Pochettino.
“Pochettino won trophies with PSG but in England, he hasn’t won anything. He was tasked with putting Chelsea back on track but he hasn’t done it. I don’t know if there’s something wrong with the connection between the manager and the players.”
