Todd Boehly and Chelsea’s board reveals stance on sacking Mauricio Pochettino aimed Chelsea poor form
The Chelsea plan has always been to assess everything, including Mauricio Pochettino’s position, at the end of the season.
Chelsea Co. Owner Todd Boehly has revealed his stance on Pochettino’s future at Chelsea, amidst the blues poor run of form.
Mauricio Pochettino signed a two-year deal when he joined the club last summer, with the option of a further year.
Though it’s said that Chelsea knew it would take time for Pochettino to settle, they have been shocked at the lack of progress made this term.
But Chelsea’s board are still minded to stick with Pochettino until the end of the season.
The board appreciate the problems the club have faced this season, and are sympathetic to the injury crisis that has engulfed the first team.
But Pochettino is walking a tightrope, and Chelsea’s board will reconsider their stance if results continue to get worse.
Squad morale is said to be low at Cobham. Insiders close to the team describe an atmosphere of players leaving as soon as they can after training is finished, with squad members rarely staying behind to do extra work.
