Agbonlahor says this Chelsea star lacks football intelligence after watching him against Liverpool
Mykhailo Mudryk came under criticism from Gabby Agbonlahor, following his cameo in Chelsea’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Mudryk came off the bench in the second half, with the Blues looking to salvage the game while they were still 2-0 down.
However, the 23-year-old couldn’t really make an impact, and even squandered a very rare opportunity to reduce the deficit for Chelsea.
Aside from his poor finishing, Mudryk was also guilty of misplacing a good number of his passes, which all summed up to earn him some harsh words from former Aston Villa striker, Gabby Agbonlahor.
“You’ve got Mudryk coming on, he hasn’t learnt anything, running into people, kicking it out of play. He doesn’t look like he’s got a football intelligence,” the pundit said on talkSPORT while discussing Mudryk’s display for Chelsea on Wednesday night.
Chelsea spent a whopping £89m to get Mudryk over to Stamford Bridge from Shakhtar Donetsk last January, and even though we have seen glimpses of what the Ukrainian can do on his day, there just haven’t been enough to convince critics that that investment wouldn’t have been better channelled elsewhere.
