Pochettino’s Bold Claim: Chelsea’s Squad Still Falls Short, Believes They Need a 20+ Goal Scorer
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino still thinks that his Chelsea squad are lacking in one particular department.
But it looks like yet again, the Chelsea hierarchy are not going to address the issue in this window.
If they are, then they are going to have to do it quick, because there are just over two days left now of this current transfer window, and as the hours tick by, it looks less and less likely that Chelsea will be looking to bring a new striker in.
But Pochettino still thinks they lack a 2–goal striker, and he is absolutely spot on. We can all see it, the pundits all see it, but the owners seem to think they can wait until the summer to address it.
In words picked up by SPTC from Pochettino’s press conference this afternoon, he was asked, if Chelsea had a fit striker, where would the Blues be in the table?
“It’s difficult to guess. To have a player that can score 20 plus, then you would’ve won more games and been in a different position in the table. It’s true, if we compare our performances to other teams, we are near the top, only in terms of performance.
“We need to build our victory in different ways and try to be clinical because we want to win games. We cannot regret and we cannot go back. We need to learn and to be better in the future.”
