Chelsea make final decision on Karim Benzema
Chelsea have turned down the chance to sign Karim Benzema this January, according to a new report.
The Blues are reportedly in the market for a new striker, and Benzema just happens to be available.
The former Real Madrid star is eager to leave Saudi club, Al-Ittihad less than a year after he joined them from the Spanish capital. This comes after he reportedly fell out of favour with the club’s management.
Benzema’s reps have approached Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United to sign the player, but according to The Athletic, the Blues have opted against accepting the offer.
Since the Todd Boehly era began at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have gone only after some of the most talented young players in the world, and they intend to maintain that philosophy.
Whether or not Chelsea will actually end up signing any new player this January however, remains a mystery, as they continue to be linked with many names with the winter transfer market set to close in a few days.
