Top Journalist Slams Chelsea Star Player for  Disappears in Crucial Matches

Nizaar Kinsella made a video at full time of last night’s game against Aston Villa where he noted what he thought had been an issue for Chelsea:

“Cole Palmer has been exceptional for Chelsea this season, but in the number 9 position he’s not quite as good. Being that focal point doesn’t come naturally to him, he’s not a target man and never will be. He’s more of a ball player, you want him on the ball. And that was an issue really today, he gets lost in these games.”

It’s true that it’s not Palmer’s position, and we’d rather see him out on the right wing where he’s been most effective. But let’s not kid ourselves – the other option is Armando Broja up top, and he did little with his 20 minutes on the pitch to show he should have started.

Our best chances came from harrying Villa’s defence in the second part of the first half, and that was when we had both Conor Gallagher and Palmer able to push really high, with Enzo Fernandez and the two wingers joining in to make a fearsome wall of pressure.

It didn’t pay off with a goal, but we don’t blame Palmer or Pochettino’s selection of him up top at all yesterday.
