Confirmed: Victor Osimhen for sale as Napoli owner breaks silence on move to Stamford Bridge
We will sell him – Napoli owner finally reveals where Victor Osimhen will play
Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed that Chelsea target Victor Osimhen will be sold at the end of the season.
Osimhen played an integral role in Napoli’s Serie A success last season, scoring 26 league goals and 31 in all competitions, as Napoli won the Serie A title.
The 25-year-old striker was heavily linked with a move away in the summer, with Chelsea very keen on his signature. Osimhen however remained in Naples, and signed a contract extension in December until 2026.
De Laurentiis has now named three possible destinations for the Nigerian star.
“We knew that since last summer,” De Laurentiis told reporters.
“That’s why the contract negotiations were so drawn out and amicable… but we knew perfectly well that he would go Real Madrid, to PSG or to a English team.”
Osimhen himself recently declared his admiration for the Premier League, and also admitted he’d be leaving Naples come the end of the season.
“The rumour is going around about me linked with the Premier League,” Osimhen told CBS Sports.
“Of course, when you’re one of the hottest strikers in the world you expect this type of thing, the EPL it’s one of the biggest and best leagues in the world.
“For me, I’m with Napoli, signed a new contract and enjoying my time there with the team, at the end of the season I’ve already made up my mind, I already know what I want to do in my career.
“Since I’ve started, I’ve been the one making my own decisions on everything and it’s working out well for me, even though when I started it didn’t go so well.
“I already have my plan, I already know the next step I want to take, so for now I just want to finish the season strong.”
