Chelsea manager refrains from denying exit rumors surrounding striker
There have been increasing rumours in recent weeks that Armando Broja could leave Chelsea this January, with a host of Premier League teams linked with interest in the Chelsea striker.
Mauricio Pochettino was asked in his press conference today if there was any “news” about a departure, and rather than denying that a move was on the cards, he notably simply denied there was any news on the subject:
“At the moment, no news. We cannot update in any way. It’s all so quiet and I think that’s a good thing because we are working well.”
It’s not exactly confirming Broja could go, but he’s certainly not denying it either. He’s hinting that he would like Broja to stay, but that he doesn’t have much say in the decision anyway.
It’s a hard move to get your head around overall – we’ve got two strikers, one is away, why on earth would we sell the other? But as fans we never get 100% of the full picture, and sometimes we just have to try and work out what the logic behind a move is before it becomes clear.
