Transfer expert confirms Chelsea’s interest in this player
Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Nice defender, Jean-Clair Todibo.
This is according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, who recently shared an update on the 24-year-old.
Todibo is a very talented centre back that appears to be a potential replacement for Thiago Silva, whose contract runs out in June.
However, Romano also says that Chelsea have not yet opened negotiations with the player’s camp or Nice.
He told GiveMeSport: “From what I’m told, Chelsea have been involved in some scouting activity, but they didn’t start any negotiations with the player’s camp or Nice.
They know that the player is probably not for sale in the January transfer window. Nice would only sell Todibo for a very important amount of money, not €35million or €40million, as reported in the media.”
Journalist, Ben Jacobs reported earlier this month, that it could cost up to €60m (£52m) for any club to successfully purchase Todibo from Nice.
There have also been reports that Chelsea may look to complete a move for the Frenchman this January, even though that looks rather unlikely, considering that there’s very little time remaining before the window slams shut.
