John Terry has shared what his thoughts are regarding Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino this season.

The Blues have had a very underwhelming outing this season, despite their current standing on the Premier League table.

After 21 games, Chelsea are ninth, just three places ahead of where they finished last season.

The Blues are also in danger of crashing out of the Carabao Cup after losing 1-0 to Middlesbrough in the first leg at the Riverside Stadium, which took place about two weeks ago.

With the second leg of the clash coming up on Tuesday, and Mauricio Pochettino’s men taking on Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round just three days later, this could be a defining moment in the season for Chelsea.

Terry was asked to share what he thinks about his former side during his attendance at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, and the Englishman said: “Unfortunately, Chelsea are a little bit off it at the moment.”

The former defender also commented on Poch’s future, adding: “But given time, the manager needs time, Poch is a great manager, I’ve seen him work on a daily basis.”

So far, Pochettino’s job as Chelsea boss appears safe, but the Argentine needs not be reminded that things can change very quickly at Stamford Bridge, as was the case with his predecessors, Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.
