Ornstein reveals potential striker departure if favorable offer is made this month
Just when we thought we had a sleepy Wednesday afternoon ahead in terms of transfer news, David Ornstein has swooped in with a major bomb with the news that Chelsea are willing to let Armando Broja leave this month on a permanent deal if a “suitable offer” is received.
This follows rumours in recent days that Wolves and Fulham are interested. But previous reports have claimed that any move would depend on Chelsea first finding a replacement. Ornstein says this is not the case, making a Broja sale infinitely more likely.
This sale stinks of financial fair play – nobody thinking about the football side of things is going to sell the one and only striker we have available right now under any other circumstances. As a home grown player, Broja is prime profit material, and it seems the club are willing to hurt our chances in matches for the rest of this season to balance the books.
Perhaps they shouldn’t have spent so much to get us into this situation in the first place?
