Man United  might thwart Italian interest in Chelsea defender

Man U might thwart Italian interest in Chelsea defender with a strong commitment in the transfer pursuit

We reported on claims yesterday from Ben Jacobs that Trevoh Chalobah is set to leave Chelsea in this window, and that the defender would prefer a Premier League move.

The issues was a lack of interest – we’ve heard about several Serie A teams, from Roma to Lazio to AC Milan being keen, but since Nottingham Forest ended up looking elsewhere in the summer, there’s been little to no whispers of Premier League teams keen on signing him.

That changed today though – Caughtoffside are reporting that Man U of all people are keeping an eey on Chalobah. They’re desperately short at the back – short enough to be playing a Harry Maguire / Jonny Evans partnership at times – and Chalobah could be the perfect squad player for them to bring in.

For Chelsea, it will just be a question of who offers more money – and if they can convince United that Chalobah is the man they want, it’s hard to see any Italian team offering what the Red Devils do.
