Influential Chelsea player asserts, “We are turning a corner.”
One Chelsea player has this week claimed that he feels the club and team are now finally starting to turn a corner as we hit the halfway point in the season.
Over the festive period, other than a couple of pretty big stumbles and inconsistent performances, Chelsea have actually had a fairly good handful of games. It’s been a period where they have been much stronger in home games at least, something they hadn’t managed to be for a long time recently. They have also managed to close the gap on the European places and are now within reaching distance of the Conference League and Europa League places at least.
Fans are still not content just yet though and many are not feeling optimistic ahead of the upcoming fixtures. But vice-captain Ben Chilwell is a bit more positive on things now moving forward after a win against Fulham on Saturday.
‘I think we are starting to turn a corner a little bit now,’ Chilwell said as picked up by the Chelsea website today.
‘We’re eight unbeaten at the Bridge now and beating Fulham, in a local derby, gives us real momentum ahead of a big game against Middlesbrough the [Carabao] cup semi-final.
‘I’m sure the fans will be right behind us as they always are and it’s a big opportunity for us to create another special night under the lights at Stamford Bridge.’
