Pochettino gives his own view Gusto red card argument after claims by Fulham manager

Mauricio Pochettino has reacted to the controversy surrounding Malo Gusto’s tackle on Willian during Saturday’s 1-0 win against Fulham.

Gusto appeared to stamp a foot on Willian in the first half, before Chelsea went on to score through Cole Palmer, just before the break.

The Frenchman was issued a yellow card for the challenge by centre referee, Anthony Taylor, but some Fulham fans thought it should have been a red.

Fulham coach, Marco Silva also made the same claim in a post-match interview, but Pochettino has honestly admitted it was a bad tackle from the Chelsea player.

“I respect his opinion. It was a challenge, a difficult challenge for the referees and the VAR, I don’t know if they check or not,” Pochettino told TNT Sports.

“Ok. I’m not going to say nothing, I accept that maybe…it was a red card but I cannot say too much because I didn’t see all the angles and the camera yet. Look that is football.”
