Chelsea’s position could move to last place if they suffer a defeat this weekend
Where did Chelsea’s troubles really begin? At the beginning of last season. Things hadn’t been perfect the year before, there were injuries and frustrations and stress over the new ownership, but results held up Thomas Tuchel was sacked.
That was where the spiral really began, and the stats if you look back to that point are outrageous.
After Tuesday night’s game, Chelsea have now lost 31 games in all competitions in that period. Of all the Premier League teams, only Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth have lost more. And only by one. And they’re both in better form than us.
If they both draw or win this weekend and we lose to Fulham, we’d be the worst performing team in the whole Premier League over the course of 18 months and counting. The signs couldn’t be clearer than we’re big trouble right now.
Our home form has picked up, and we just have to hope we can handle an early kick off against Fulham.
