Chelsea’s key attacker, despite missing 3 crucial chances, remains the Blues’ most potent threat
Cole Palmer has been Chelsea’s saviour time and again this season, but couldn’t produce the goods last night against Middlesbrough, despite some presentable opportunities.
Palmer had four chances. The first he hit too close to the keeper as he advanced on goal.
The second he bent just wide of the post – but it was a good strike from range reminding us of his quality.
The third he fluffed over the bar – ugly but understandable as the ball came to him from the keeper stood just a metre away with no time to react.
The fourth he hit too close to the goalie, but he had no space or time for a full shooting motion.
Of course he could have done better with each – but at least he was in the centre of things. We’d be very surprised if he gets through another game like this without at least a goal or an assist to his name.
There are a lot of things to be concerned about with this team – Cole isn’t one of them.
