Pochettino provides optimistic injury update on three Chelsea players, saying, “We are so close.”
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has given fresh injury updates on three of his first team players.
As we know, Chelsea have been plagued with injury after injury this season in what has been a truly unprecedented situation at the club.
I don’t think fans would ever remember such a time where they have had to endure so many injuries to so many of their players over a consistent time period. It’s been so frustrating for everyone involved with the club, especially Pochettino.
He will hope this season that he will at least get to pick from a nearly fully fit squad, although that still seems like a pipe dream right now.
He does have some good news on three current injured players though, via the Chelsea website this morning.
It sounds like Benoit Badiashile, Ben Chilwell, and Carney Chukwuemeka are all on the verge of a return to the squad!
‘We are so close with some players like Chilwell, Badiashile and Chukwuemeka,’ Pochettino added.
‘But we need to see every day the evaluation and then it’s about whether we can include or not. But they are so close and always we use our experience to tell how players are performing in training.’
