Mauricio Pochettino confirms ongoing Chelsea talks in transfer statement

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that talks are happening over possible January business.

Chelsea spent some serious money in the summer window – they really splashed the cash and signed players that they believe will drive the club to success in the coming years.

They may be down in 10th position in the Premier League – but there is a feeling that the young stars under Mauricio Pochettino can develop into something special if the Argentine boss is given the time.

However – they still need to add some much needed experience to the side and that has led to alot of speculation that a new defender and a proven striker may well end up at the Premier League giants.

Pochettino was quoted on Sky Sport: “We don’t need to sit together, like an official meeting. Every day we are talking and assessing the squad.

“There are some players that we own, like Andrey Santos, that we need to take some decisions.

“But I am happy with the squad that we have. We are focused on recovering players as quickly as possible.

“Maybe we can do something or not but we did not take any decisions.”

This Chelsea squad will develop over the next few seasons as the players as real potential – but to get back into that Champions League spots and start winning trophies again, they need some elite players too.

The transfer window has only just opened so it will be interesting to see just what business the Blues do.
