Chelsea move to beat Man United and Tottenham for Ligue 1 star
According to Foot Mercato via Metro, Chelsea will rival Manchester United and Tottenham for the signing of highly-rated defender Jean-Clair Todibo.
The Nice defender has established himself as one of the best young centre-backs in Ligue 1 and has been tipped to make the move to the Premier League.
Despite spending £175million on Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly since buying Chelsea, Todd Boehly is reportedly unsatisfied with the defenders at the club. Chelsea have kept just four clean sheets and conceded 31 goals in 20 league games this season.
Chelsea have made contact with the representatives of Todibo but will struggle to convince Nice to sell the 24 year old defender this January.
It is believed that Nice are not willing to entertain any offers midway through the season, meaning a summer move might be the only option.
