Chelsea vs Sheffield predicted XI includes a significant decision regarding Christopher Nkunku

A return to winning ways is essential for Mauricio Pochettino this weekend when the Premier League returns to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues look ahead to welcoming Sheffield United on Saturday, with pressure mounting on the manager after a number of poor results.

While injuries continue to mount, the boss is looking ahead to potentially welcoming back one of his biggest summer additions.

Here’s The Chelsea Chronicle’s prediction for the team that will face Sheffield United on Saturday.

GK and Defence

An injury to Robert Sanchez will see a first start in Blue for 24-year-old Djordje Petrovic after his cameo at Everton..

Malo Gusto will hopefully be fit enough to start at right-back, after their options became limited after another injury for Reece James.

After being dropped last weekend, Thiago Silva will make his way back into the starting line-up.

He will be partnered at the back by Benoit Badiashile, meaning Axel Disasi will drop to the bench,

Left-back will be occupied by Levi Colwill, after an injury concern for Marc Cucurella.

Moises Caicedo will be looking to kick-start his Chelsea career at the weekend, starting again in midfield.

He will be partnered by Enzo Fernandez, who is also looking for a return to his best in a Blue shirt.

Ahead of them, Conor Gallagher will bring the legs to the midfield with another start.

Attack

Cole Palmer will be given the free role in attack, arguably being the best performer for the club this season.

Raheem Sterling was benched last week against Everton, however he will return on Saturday to look to prove why that was a mistake.

Up front, Chelsea fans will get the first viewing of Christopher Nkunku, who has been back in training for quite a few weeks now and is ready to make an impact.
