Nicolas Jackson Breaks Silence on his confrontation with Chelsea fan

Nicolas Jackson has admitted he was wrong to have gotten involved in an exchange of words with a Chelsea fan during the 2-0 loss to Brentford earlier this season.

With Chelsea trailing against the Bees, a fan at Stamford Bridge piled the pressure on Jackson, who didn’t like it, and responded in a harsh tone.

Mauricio Pochettino addressed the incident after the game, and criticised the Senegal international for the behaviour, and now the 22-year-old has now said he could have handled it better.

“I have to apologise to the fan,” said the striker to the Telegraph. “I have never experienced this before. At Villarreal you play without so much pressure because it’s a different team, but I know it comes from a good place.

“Normally I don’t talk to fans or get distracted by what they say. I don’t know what happened to me. It must have been frustration.

“I was at Villarreal, but it was a different environment. You don’t have that kind of thing there. In Chelsea it is different.”
