Pep Guardiola speaks about Chelsea’s performances with immense praise and admiration

Pep Guardiola is often known for his mind games when speaking about other clubs, players, and managers.

But in his post-match press conference after his side drew 4-4 with Chelsea yesterday afternoon, you felt like he genuinely meant the words he said when he proceeded to rave about Chelsea and compliment them.

I don’t think he would have gone quite as deep with the nice words if it was just his mind games, and you felt a sincerity in the way he said it this time.

Pep thinks Chelsea have performed very well against some of the top teams like Liverpool and Arsenal this season, and then again against his City side yesterday.

The game was emphatic from start to finish, but Chelsea certainly didn’t look like a team that had a large gap between them and the league leaders right now, far from it.

And Pep was certainly impressed…

Pep Guardiola: “Chelsea have a fantastic team and players. Here Liverpool couldn’t win, they were much, much better than Arsenal… it’s Chelsea! They don’t go away.

They have physicality, they have talent, they have speed, they have bench, they have a lot of things.
