Enzo Fernandez has been speaking to the Chelsea official website today about facing his international teammate and friend, Julian Alvarez in today’s game against Manchester City.
The Blues midfielder admitted that the pair would be sharing a flight to Argentina after the game to go on international duty together, so he was hoping it was a win so he was the happy one, and not the other way around.
“We’ve spoken a little, we both know it is going to be a good game.
“It’s been a journey for both of us. We started out at River together so we know each other well. We are both very proud to have come to the Premier League, the best league in the world.
“To see now where we are, Chelsea and Manchester City, is just brilliant. Straight after the game, we are travelling together to Argentina to join up with the national team. So I hope to go with a win!”

The only thing we truly regret is that Chelsea weren’t the ones to buy Alvarez. He has hardly a hidden gem, he was a highly rated star for one of South America’s biggest clubs and an Argentina international, yet despite our years of desperation looking for a striker, we let him go to Manchester City.
Now they have him AND Erling Haaland, and we’ll have to defender against both today…
