Chelsea youngster Cole Palmer is keen to learn the Spanish language to help him communicate even better with some of his teammates.

That is according to a report from The Telegraph.

They claim that Cole Palmer, 21, wants to learn Spanish to make it even easier to speak with some individuals around Stamford Bridge.

It is explained that the likes of Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Thiago Silva speak Spanish. Also, so does Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino, along with members of his backroom staff.

The report explains that Palmer’s keen to make an extra effort to mean he doesn’t rely on solely being spoken to in English.

We’re really enjoying everything we see with Palmer when he steps on a football pitch. The same goes for what we hear off of it, too!

It’s a fantastic gesture from the English youngster if he goes out of his way to learn a new language to help others inside the dressing room.

There’s English speakers across a very global dressing room, but it’ll be a nice touch from Palmer.

His £40million signing (Sky Sports) is becoming a more shrewd investment by the club every single day.

It’s worth adding that Palmer, Fernandez and Caicedo could be key components of the long-term Chelsea XI, so it’s an added bonus if they’re all on the same wavelength.

We doubt Palmer would’ve dreamed for such a quick start in his opening months in West London.

The left-footed playmaker looks a nailed-on starter in the XI already, with supporters now expecting him to make the difference in games. He looks a confident young lad who can deal with that kind of pressure, too.

Speaking via Football.London in Friday’s press conference, Pochettino described Palmer as a “clever” player who’s showing a lot of character right now.

He’s emerged as the penalty taker at the club, scoring three from three. His creativity from open play massively stands out in a good way as well. Our preference is that he drifts into central attacking positions rather than being restricted to the right wing.

This weekend is a huge game for him on a personal level when former club Man City arrive at Stamford Bridge for a Premier League fixture.
