Tottenham star attacks John Terry for celebrating Chelsea’s 4-1 victory against Tottenham
James Maddison has expressed displeasure with the way John Terry celebrated Chelsea’s 4-1 against Tottenham on Monday night.
Dejan Kulusevski opened the scoring in the 6th minute after his deflected shot found its way into the Chelsea goal, before Tottenham went a man down, as Cristian Romero was shown a straight red card for fouling Enzo Fernandez inside the Spurs’ penalty area. Cole Palmer successfully dispatched the spot-kick to bring the Blues level.
The home side lost another man to a red card, with Destiny Udogie on the receiving end of the punishment after he was shown a second yellow for a reckless challenge on Raheem Sterling.
Nicolas Jackson gave Chelsea the lead in the 75th minute, before adding two more goals in injury time, to hand Ange Potescoglu and his men their first loss of the season.
Maddison was subbed off in the first half after sustaining an injury.
Celebrating his former side’s win on Instagram, ex-centre back, Terry shared a video of himself dancing, while he sang to his wife, and added the caption: “When Chelsea beat Spurs 4-1 on a school night and the tequila comes out, and you end up dancing and singing on the bar.”
Maddison was clearly not impressed with the video, and fired back at Terry in the comments’ area, writing: “Jesus, u have ur closed when it was 11 v 11 first 15 JT?
The 45-year-old was however, going to have the last word, as he wrote in reply to Maddison, alongside a ‘laughing’ emoji: “Don’t worry mate you will get used to it.”
