Finally: Chelsea coach punished by English FA

Chelsea’s assistant manager, Jesus Perez has been found guilty of misconduct— and charged by the English FA, following his clash with the opposition bench during Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Brentford last weekend.

Perez, in a bid to quickly get Chelsea to continue their search for an equaliser against the Bees, went to retrieve the ball from Thomas Frank’s technical area. He was however, immediately sent off by the centre referee for his actions, while the Blues ended up losing the game.

Pere, was officially slammed with a ‘misconduct’ charge on Tuesday, and given until Thursday to respond. And according to a statement from the FA, the Chelsea assistant coach has since admitted his wrongdoing.

He has also been fined £4000 for the offence, per the statement, which partly read: “Jesus Perez admitted that his conduct during the 88th minute which led to his dismissal was improper, and he also accepted the standard penalty.”
