Reason Pochettino support criticised Chelsea player ‘is going to be great for the club’
There haven’t been many current Chelsea players who have escaped any form of criticism of late, and that is just very normal in football.
Some fans take it too far and turn criticism into agendas and abuse, and there should be a fine line that is not crossed. But fans get emotional and have a right to vent their opinions if they think things are not going well or players are not playing well.
New goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has had a bit of a mixed bag so far in his Chelsea career. He has looked very good on occasions, but he’s also shown that he has a mistake in him – the Declan Rice goal a couple of weeks back being the prime example.
He has received some criticism from some of the fanbase and pundits, but manager Mauricio Pochettino is fully backing to become a great player for Chelsea.
In words picked up by The Daily Mail, Pochettino said: “I am really happy with his [Robert Sanchez] attitude and commitment. He is going to be great for the club.
“He only arrived at the last moment, the other keeper went to Madrid, he played in two or three training sessions and then straight into the season.
“We need to give him time to adapt, it is not the same playing for another team as it is at Chelsea where there is pressure to win.”
