Pochettino claims Chelsea have made too many changes to the squad
Chelsea have made a vast amount of changes in the last three transfer windows since the new owners came in.
And even this summer alone, there has been a huge amount of changes in the squad with players being sold and new players arriving – it has all been done very fast.
According to Chelsea’s official website [cited by The Telegraph], a mind-boggling 40 players, excluding academy youngsters, went in and out of Stamford Bridge during the summer, including 12 new signings and 28 departures, either permanently or on loan.
It is a lot of changes to make in such a short space of time and for any club it could become unsettling and is a bit of a risk to take.
But Chelsea’s owners wanted to transform the squad and get the club back competing at the top again as soon as possible.
Pochettino was asked yesterday whether he thinks there has been too many changes.
In words cited by The Telegraph, he responded: “At the moment, I think we are a young team, a young team means too many changes in the summer because of the circumstances and we are suffering – sometimes good and bad results, but performances are consistent.”
