Barca’s relationship with Man City ‘completely broken’ — it has to do with Lamine Yamal
Although it was not widely reported, Manchester City came with everything to sign Lamine Yamal from Barcelona in the summer, Radio Marca reveals.
Of course, Barcelona rejected every attempt made by the Cityzens for Yamal, but they kept on pushing to get him. As a result, Barca’s relationship with Man City has worsened and may even be completely broken.
Man City may believe they deserve a show of good faith from Barcelona after selling them Ferran Torres, almost on credit in January 2022. Eric Garcia was also allowed to run down his contract before heading to Barca for free in the summer of 2021.
This summer, Barca also signed Joao Cancelo on loan from Man City at a cut price, with the defender agreeing a massive pay cut.
However, Yamal has shown to be a generational talent having burst into the scene for club and country at the age of 16.
Barca have opted to rebuff all advances for the gem and instead offered him his first pro contract keeping him at the club until the summer of 2026.
