Mauricio Pochettino reveals the return date for Enzo Fernandez
Mauricio Pochettino reveals when Enzo Fernandez return for Chelsea.
Chelsea were without Enzo Fernandez for their 2-0 defeat to Brentford, and their fans already want to know when he’ll return.
The Argentine was pictured at Stamford Bridge looking rather glum as the Bees stunned the hosts.
The midfielder has been a vital player since joining Chelsea earlier this year but was unavailable due to a muscle problem.
When will Enzo Fernandez return for Chelsea?
Mauricio Pochettino indicated before the game that he wasn’t too worried about Fernandez.
However, he refused to specify what his injury was, so it could turn out to be worse than initially indicated.
Speaking pre-match about Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk missing out, Pochettino said: “We hoped they would be okay to be in the squad, but unfortunately, they aren’t quite ready. Small muscle injuries for them both.
Fernandez and his partner also welcomed a child this week and Pochettino indicated that could have played a part in his absence.
He said: “Yes, they have a baby.
“That’s possibly why he felt uncomfortable and couldn’t train, and now, he’s going to rest and recover.”
If the injury is small, as Pochettino says, you would think he would be available for Chelsea’s huge league game against Tottenham next Monday.
Before that, they face a trip to Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup, but it’s unlikely he would play in that one anyway.
So we will have to see what Pochettino says later in the week, but Chelsea fans shouldn’t be too worried and Fernandez is likely to be back soon.
