Arsene Wenger’s damning assessment of Chelsea’s quality
Arsene Wenger is on duty to watch El Clasico on BeinSports later, but Richard Keys and Andry Gray of course had to get his thoughts on the Chelsea game that had just passed.
He had some interesting theories about what is “wrong” at Chelsea.
“One paced, without ideas. They look lost. It’s a team who looks lost,” he said of their performance today against Brentford.
It’s a cold and damning assessment from the Professor, but very accurate. Today was the best example. They totally ran out of steam by about 60 minutes, in a very familiar scenario.
It’s hard to disagree with anyone as knowledgeable on football as Wenger. He’s spot on here and most fans would agree 100% with what he’s saying.
He went on to conclude that the table doesn’t lie after 10 games – it says Chelsea are “just below mid-table” and that’s exactly what they are.
