Christopher Nkunku may be available to play for Chelsea sooner than later, according to Mauricio Pochettino.

The France International has not kicked a ball for Chelsea all season after picking up a knee injury in pre-season.

He’s been working hard to return, and that could happen soon, after he was recently spotted training at Cobham.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Brentford, Pochettino said of the forward: “He’s doing well and working really hard. He’s very close. Hopefully we can have him involved as soon as possible.

“He is a really important player for us.”

On the prospect of a November debut, the manager also said: “Maybe [he’ll be back] after the international break. Maybe, but not sure.”
