Comfortably: Paul Merson predicts Chelsea vs Brentford

Paul Merson has predicted a 2-0 win for Chelsea when they host Brentford at home this Saturday.

The Blues threw away two massive points from a winning position against Arsenal last week, conceding twice in the last 15 minutes to settle for a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Merson had predicted a win for Chelsea in the fixture against his former side, and he has again, gone for a similar outcome for the Brentford game.

He wrote in his Sportskeeda column: “Chelsea were rolling the other day – they were comfortably the better team than Arsenal for 75 minutes of that contest. Robert Sanchez has a rush of blood which led to Declan Rice’s goal and suddenly, Arsenal restored parity and looked like they’d get a late winner.

“That said, if you takeaway the last 15 minutes, Chelsea dominated that game and looked like they’d keep their winning run goal with a statement result. I fancy them to beat Brentford comfortably, so I’m going for a 2-0 win.”
