Revealed: Cole Palmer open up on where Chelsea are heading after Arsenal draw
Chelsea are still heading in the right direction despite their disappointing 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Saturday evening, according to Cole Palmer.
The Blues took a 1-0 lead in the first half of the match courtesy of a clinically taken Cole Palmer penalty, while Mykhailo Mudryk made it 2-0 within moments of the second period.
The home side were playing well, and looked to be cruising to their first win over the Gunners in four attempts, before a Robert Sanchez misplaced pass gave Arsenal a lifeline back into the encounter.
Declan Rice scored Arsenal’s first goal of the match after latching on to the goalie’s poor pass, while Leandro Trossard scored with less than 10 minutes to go, to earn a point for Mikel Arteta’s men.
After the match, Palmer was asked to assess Chelsea’s performance, and the midfielder said he was disappointed with the result, even though he believes the team is still making progress.
He said: “We are obviously very disappointed not to get the three points, but Arsenal are a very good team, one of the best in the league.
“We came face to face with them.
“There are still many areas in which we can become stronger. We are moving in the right direction, this is not the end.”
