Best performance as One Chelsea player praised for what he did against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge
Former Chelsea forward, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has praised Cole Palmer for his show of confidence and arrogance against Arsenal.
The Blues were held to a 2-2 at home by their North London rivals, despite initially going 2-0 up.
Palmer and Mykhailo Mudryk were the goalscorers for Chelsea, who were particularly very impressive during the first half of the clash. The former Manchester City man converted a penalty kick for Chelsea, after William Saliba used his hand to block Mudryk’s goal-bound effort in the first period.
However, before he was allowed to take the penalty, the England U-21 was involved in what seemed to be a tussle with teammate, Raheem Sterling over who would get the right to take the spot-kick.
While reacting to Palmer’s goal, Hasselbaink said he was pleased with the youngster’s show of confidence for having the courage to go up against a more senior teammate like Sterling.
He said on Sky Sports: “He’s getting more pressure from his teammates but what he does really well.
“Penalty taking is not easy when the referee blows his whistle he waits he calms everyone down and he breaks the momentum of the goalkeeper and then he takes it.
“For me that is confidence, that for me is having something having some arrogance but that’s allowed.”
