Chelsea vs Arsenal: Premier League legend gives surprise prediction
Former Premier League goalie, David James has backed Chelsea to nick it when they welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
The high-flying Gunners are favourites to win the match, and more so because they’ve been in brilliant form this season.
Mikel Arteta’s side are joint-top of the league table after eight games. They have also won all three of their previous matches against Chelsea.
However, despite that impressive record, ex-Man City goalie, James believes the Blues will spring up a surprise when the two sides meet, and will go on to become more confident.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live: “I’m looking forward to this one. I fancied Chelsea at the beginning of the season to do well under Mauricio Pochettino, they are getting back into form.
“If I was playing against Arsenal, I would anticipate that their goalkeeper position won’t change.
“I’m going for Chelsea in this one. It’s not that I don’t like Arsenal, there’s a lot I like about Arsenal. If Chelsea get this victory, it’s the kind of victory that will spur them on and give them confidence to reach for the top of the table.”
