Selection headache: Mauricio Pochettino face big selection challenge after international break

Mauricio Pochettino face big selection challenge after international break

The final games of the international break, taking place in South America, kick off in a few hours, and after that we start the countdown to this weekend’s matches in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino has been working with a slightly larger group this fortnight than he was in the last break, but he still will be looking forward to getting the rest of the squad together as soon as possible. We’ve got a tough run of fixtures coming up, and we need to keep up the momentum we had built up with consecutive wins.

As always, the coach faces tough questions over whether to pick players who are well rested after not playing for their countries? Or those who continued their hot form while playing internationally? It’s a dilemma summed up perfectly for Chelsea in the choice between Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk.

Of course Arsenal will be facing the same questions – we wonder which philosophy each manager goes with for the big game?
