Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is expected to leave the club in January; Here is what Fabrizio Romano said
Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is expected to leave the club in January, Fabrizio Romano has Tweeted today.
The defender almost joined Bayern Munich in the summer, and both he and the club think it’s best for him to leave as the Blues look to raise money and the defender looks to play more.
We weren’t in much doubt that this would be the case anyway – Chalobah almost left in the summer, and has since played even less than he might have hoped, despite Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile missing the whole season so far injured.
It’s interesting that Romano notes that “other clubs” beyond Bayern Munich will be in the race for Chalobah’s signature. They still seem like favourites, but things change fast in football, and they may be prioritising other positions in January, opening the door for other teams.
Quite where he would go isn’t certain, but there will be no shortage of interest.
