Chelsea icon Eden Hazard has today announced his retirement.
After years struggling for fitness at Real Madrid, he’s decided to call it a day.
Hazard’s time at Chelsea was really special – he was the best player we’ve had since the Drogba, Terry, Lampard days, and the most entertaining we’ve had since Zola.
It wasn’t just flicks and tricks though – Hazard was the best player in the Premier League for several years, and helped us to titles domestically and on the continent. His cheeky attitude and commitment to the quiet life off the pitch only made him more likeable.
He was, in fact, so popular that fans did not begrudge him his eventual move to Madrid one bit. Hazard
It’s just a shame that it didn’t work out for him there, and that the world was denied a few more years of seeing one of the great entertainers doing his thing.
