Excellent performance: how Chelsea loanee drops what could be his breakout performance at last

There has been some consternation about quite a few Chelsea players’ loans this season, with some of our top prospects so far struggling for game time.

Last summer’s signing Cesare Casadei is certainly among them. He was getting Premier League interest, but ended up going to Leicester City in the Championship, ostensibly to guarantee him minutes. It hasn’t worked out like that so far, and he’s been on the bench a lot.

Today’s game against Stoke City was different though, and Casadei was finally trusted with a start. He really impressed in his 77 minutes on the pitch in central midfield, racking up some impressive stats in the game which you can see in the Tweet embedded above embedded .

He put in a lot of work defensively, with 5 tackles and 2 interceptions, as well as winning 7 of his 11 ground duels and both of his aerial duels.

Let’s hope this showing earns him further starts.
